GOODNESS GRACIOUS GREAT BALLS OF MAC N CHEESE!
I met a friend here for lunch Thursday, September 12th, 2019. Goodness gracious great balls of Mac N Cheese! Round crispy golden balls which are deep fried. When you break into the ball ooey gooey mac and cheese spills out. The exterior was crispy and light but not greasy. Their mac n cheese balls were definitely the highlight of my lunch. The 2nd side I chose was cornbread which was delicious. The price point is affordable -- $9.98 for a brisket sandwich with 2 sides.
My only gripe regarding the cornbread was that it was NOT warm. It is served cold. My other gripe was no honey on the table for the cornbread. I put a little butter on my cornbread. The cornbread was moist and sweet but not overly sweet. I would return to this restaurant specifically for their mac and cheese and corn bread.
The brisket was tender. It was not horrible, but it didn't have a smoky flavor of any kind. It was smothered in BBQ sauce which overpowered the meat. I tasted more of the sauce than I did the actual brisket. It is a huge sandwich. I removed the top bun and did not eat the top bun.
If I am ever in the area again I will definitely return. It was a huge, but satisfying lunch. The price point is affordable. $9.98 for a brisket sandwich and 2 sides. I do not drink soda. Instead, I had 2 cups of ice water. -

Who doesn't love BBQ?! Who doesn't love BBQ on a hot summer day?! It's just a perfect meal during the summer, or anytime really. So let me tell you about Uncle Bub's BBQ...
I went here with a couple friends for dinner. The restaurant itself is huge, but you really wouldn't think so once you're actually inside. We sat in the front near the ordering counter, but there's a hallway that extends back which I can only assume leads to more tables. The decor is rustic and perfect for a BBQ joint.
You're provided a number and seated at a table. When you're ready, you head up to the counter to order your meal. Lots of options, including a nice selection of beer - at least more than I expected for a simple BBQ joint. Upon ordering, you return to your seat and await your food and drinks.
So, here's where I started deducting stars. While I understand food takes time to prepare, I don't expect a long wait when ordering BBQ, regardless how busy. From time of ordering to receiving our food, it took 32 minutes. Seems a bit excessive to me.
The food was good, don't get me wrong, but it didn't blow me away either. I had the 2 meat dinner with pulled chicken and smoked turkey. Both were moist and had great smoky flavor. But as far as the food, that's where the 'good' stops. My two sides were disappointing; The coleslaw was very wet and soggy while the baked beans tasted like your average beans. My friends each ordered the fried mac and cheese bites (2 per side) which they said were pretty good. Each entree comes with cornbread, which I dubbed a 'corn cupcake'. Why? It was sooo light and fluffy, exactly like a cupcake! They were missing something in flavor though. Lastly, the BBQ sauces were nothing spectacular. They were all fairly sweet (second ingredient on 2 sauces was high fructose corn syrup) with no profound flavor profile.
While I appreciate the restaurant environment and the flavor of the meat, there really wasn't anything else that blew me away or beckons my return. -

Uncle Bubs has been high on our list and finally decided to check it out on the 4th of July. As expected, they were quite busy that day and were out of quite a few meats and sides.
Luckily, they still had their ribs, pulled pork and burnt ends so we ordered entrees of all three. If you haven't been, you order at the counter and then sit down and they'll deliver your food.
We waited quite a while for our food, about 30 minutes or so, which was surprising. But considering it was a holiday, it might have been the fact that there were a lot of take-out orders competing with us.
Overall, these were some of the best ribs I've had in a while, and coming with two sides, it was a fairly reasonable price. From the sides, the broccoli salad was our favorite, but the baked beans were decent as well.
This place was so good that we decided to go again this week and it did not disappoint. We decided to call in a to-go order and they were on top of it when I got there, ensuring we received everything including the sauces we want. Very thorough. In addition to getting their ribs again, we were able to try their wings and rib tips, which were very solid! -

Hadn't been here in some time, but the same bbq fan and I came back for more while on that side of town today.
If you can find your way back to the counter (helped by all the arrows on the floor), you'll be faced with their huge menu. The clerk was patient, and they actually have two ordering stations, which is nice if the line is growing.
I got the pulled pork with sides of fried mac and cheese (not sure what possessed me; as my companion put it, it was basically "the carbiest carb that ever carbed") and sweet potato fries (upcharge but worth it!); also comes with a teeny loaf of cornbread, which isn't the best or worst cornbread you'll ever eat. Himself got several meats (fave was brisket; he wasn't wowed by chicken) plus garlic green beans and mini corncobs (particularly enjoyed the latter).
Atmosphere here is, well, bbq joint. There was some pretty wangy-twang music when we first arrived; he wondered aloud why bbq and country music has to go together -- maybe someone heard him because after that the music changed to oldies, which was better.
Overall, a good bbq lunch choice. -

I ate the best burger here. Tastes are really delicious. Serving is really nice. Atmosphere is nice. There is a nice music at background.
